What Happens To Race Horses Who Miss Training Days

This jumping thoroughbred filly has missed one too many training days due to ice and snow. This race horse has been training on a cross country course through rolling hills. The frigid cold weather that hit the majority of the U.S. has briefly interrupter this filly's training schedule. She had a large paddock to run around in, but when this horse feels the need for speed, there is no keeping her still. In this video, she is actually reacting to the rattle of feed buckets and the blower used to sweep out the barn. The next day this high strung race horse was able to train and gave the exercise rider a run for their money. This thoroughbred filly is back in the swing of things and has satisfied her energy release requirements through miles of jogging and galloping. She should be back racing sooner than later. She definitely loves being a thoroughbred race horse.
